Facebook - A social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them.
Meebo - A web messenger that lets you access IM from absolutely anywhere. meebo supports msn, yahoo, aol/aim, google talk (gtalk), jabber and icq.

Not to mention Google Notebook - http://www.google.com/notebook/ - Very useful to collect all kinds of notes while surfing the net and the possibility to access it anywhere and anytime.
